Glogster -The Five Senses

http://glitzkowitz.edu.glogster.com/the-five-senses-2

Above is the link to my Glogster on the five senses. This is an actual lesson I gave to my six-year-old students and adapting it on Glogster was definitely interesting and fun. Glogster allows for the lesson to be mapped out all on one page, and while on its own , this doesn't contain all the information I gave over in the actual lesson, it really maps out the big ideas and is a great review for the students. Hope you enjoy!

Article Reflection - Week 11

Reflection of: “ Evaluating pedagogical affordances of media sharing Web 2.0 technologies: A case study.”

After reading the article ,I feel when aiming to design meaningful learning experiences with the technologies mentioned in the article, such as Voicethread, there definitely has to be stress on sound planning, imagination and creativity while working on the lesson. With the combination of careful planning and a thorough understanding of the dynamics of these affordances, the various uses of Voicethread and other similar technologies can add a lot to the lesson. The article definitely listed the different attributes Voicethread has to offer , most of which I found to be very interesting and insightful, especially regarding a simple tool such as Voicethread. When I myself used Voice thread (this course introduced it to me for the first time!), seeing how it allowed users to securely capture and hold an entire group discussion or thread on one page, was definitely a crucial aspect to see and understand since , through simple navigation and other features, it makes any discussion or presentation visually clear and immediate for learners and tutors. I would definitely implement tools like Voicethread into my lessons, since, like the case study in the article shows, there is great potential in the usage of these tools , and with careful design and implementation, I can monitor and ensure that  an entire group discussion is going smoothly, all on one page. The only issue I would have while designing lessons that would require Voicethread and the like, is if there isn't sufficient Internet or devices available in school for all students in the class. However, if students were to work in online classes such as our current course, there can be much to learn with the implementation of tools like Voicethread.
